This body of work continues the grid-based collage approach used to create my Chronicle series and examines the fragmentation of memories by recycling found photographs as the raw materials. Arranging these glimpses of the past also explores the idea of a universal human experience. A skyscape and a seascape are composed from photographs created by many different people at different times, which represent the natural world that everyone experiences. The evidence that humans leave of their own existence is present as well. Our handwritten notes on the back of photographs, the buildings we inhabit and interact with, and our signs and advertisements reflect what is left behind and how we leave our marks on the world.
